Smouldering was discovered in a wood pile during routine checks yesterday (Monday 2 June) at our Hazelhead, Sheffield site. The isolated pile is currently being dampened down by South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue which is creating steam and smoke. The Environment Agency have been made aware and we expect the situation to be fully resolved as soon as possible.

Health & Safety is of greatest importance to us and we would like to assure that we will be working closely with both the Environment Agency and South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue to readdress preventative measures in order to minimise the risk of this happening again. All deliveries of wood to the site have currently been suspended.
