We're delighted to be introducing this Peterson 2710D Horizontal Grinder, supplied by Neutron Equipment, to our Elkesley site, near Retford.

The Peterson is already processing up to 70 TPH of waste wood (dependant on wood grade and selected screen size).

The Peterson Pacific offers a wide variety of grinder options, ranging from 500Hp – 1125hp.  The tracked 2710D weighing in at 31 tonnes is powered by a Cat C18 755HP Tier IV engine.  Peterson Horizontal Grinders offer accurate product sizing, more throughput and greater economy in fuel and wear parts.  Its feed system incorporates sloped feed walls which allow better visibility while loading, facilitating smoother feeding for increased production in a wide variety of materials.

Managing Director Jamie Plevin, said: “We looked at the throughput, the build, and costs and other operational considerations and the Peterson machine came out on top.  Peterson is a well-established brand, and we were well aware of the quality and processing abilities, so after further discussions with Neutron Equipment we chose the 2710D.

Sustainability is taken seriously at Plevin. With over 600,000 tonnes of wood collected, processed, and distributed each year to the biomass, animal bedding, and chipboard sectors, the company prevent over 200,000 tonnes of waste going to landfill annually; with an additional 2,000 - 3,000 tonnes a year of ferrous and non-ferrous being recycled.
